【SDGs】海藻が織りなすアートで自然の循環を知る

海藻を通して海の環境保全に取り組んでいる高山優美さん。ビーチクリーン活動などで回収した海藻でおしばアートを作り、海藻が持つ自然の形や色の美しさを最大限に生かした作品に仕上げています。近年、気候変動などの影響で海藻が減少する中、海の環境保全に興味を持ってもらうきっかけとして取り組みをスタート。今後も海藻のおしばアートを伝え広め、生態系豊かな美しい海を未来に残していきたいと語る高山さんの思い描く未来とは？

Ms. Masami Takayama is using seaweed to protect the ocean’s environment. She creates artwork using seaweed collected during beach clean-up activities and other events, producing works that maximize the natural beauty of the seaweed’s shapes and colors. In recent years, as seaweed populations have declined due to the effects of climate change and other factors, she initiated this project as a means to raise awareness about protecting the ocean environment. Ms. Takayama says she wants to continue spreading the word about artwork using seaweed and leave a beautiful ocean with a rich ecosystem for future generations. What kind of future does she envision?
