【SDGs】魅力に触れる機会をつくり職人の伝統技術を守る

日本の伝統工芸品のすばらしさを伝える活動をしている中村亜弓さん。近年、海外から日本の文化や伝統工芸が注目される一方で、伝統工芸産業は需要の減少や後継者不足という問題を抱えています。そこで、職人の持つ技術に直接触れることができる場をつくろうと定期的に工芸体験を開催。今後は、行政や民間企業と連携して伝統工芸職人や作家が活躍できる機会を増やし、日本の伝統技術を残していきたいと語る中村さんの思い描く未来とは？

Ms. Ayumi Nakamura is actively spreading the charm of traditional Japanese crafts. In recent years, while Japanese culture and traditional crafts have been attracting attention overseas, the traditional craft industry is facing issues such as declining demand and a lack of successors. In response, she regularly holds craft workshops to create a place where people can directly experience the skills of craftspeople. In the future, Ms. Nakamura hopes to work with local governments and private companies to increase opportunities for traditional craftspeople to thrive and preserve Japan’s traditional techniques. What kind of future does she envision?
